Pine Tree 2024

From March 15th-17th, our team headed to the Colisée at Lewiston, Maine to compete in the Pine Tree District Event. Here, our newest robot Downforce would compete at its first official event.

During the qualifications, our team ranked 7th out of 29. We were then picked into the 3rd Alliance by team 4564, Orange CHAOS, later inviting team 8023 Argonauts. Moving onto the playoffs, our alliance made it to match 10 in the lower bracket.

Additionally, our team received three awards: Woodie Flowers, Dean's List, and the Impact Award. In recognition of his significant work as a new mentor, our mentor Layth became a Woodie-Flowers Semi-Finalist. Our co-captain, Tim, received Dean's List, an award that recognizes an outstanding individual student's dedication to leadership and making a difference in their community and uplifting their team.

Finally, our team received the Impact Award for the third year in a row. This award is the most prestigious awards in the FIRST Robotics Competition program, which works to recognizes team that aim to sustain teams and spread the awareness of STEAM and FRC to communities as youth leaders and innovators.

Winning the Impact Award allowed us to compete at the New England District Championships. Our team has grown in confidence and gratefulness toward a successful season.
