FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) Qualifier

FTC Teams come from around New England to compete at our high school. We set up a field for that year's game for the teams to compete on. Last year's game was played with two alliances of two teams facing off against one another. After the qualifiers, the teams play in a bracket-style tournament, with only a few teams moving on to go compete at the state level! This is one of two qualifiers the teams will partake in. With teams only being able to participate in two qualifiers competition is tough.

FIRST LEGO League (FLL) Qualifier

On November 18th, we hosted our annual FIRST LEGO League Challenge Qualifier with students in 4–8th grade. 18 teams showed up to compete for a spot at the NHFLL State Championship on December 2nd at Windham High School in Windham, NH. The FLL teams compete in tabletop matches where they complete LEGO tasks within 2:30 minutes. Additionally, they talked to judges about their robot design, core values, and innovation project, which presents ideas to solve a real-world problem based on the annual theme. Congratulations to Team Kube for winning the championship award and to and Team Blue Heron Gamma for winning the second-place award. During our event, legislative representatives Rosemarie Rung and Tim McGough visited us, as well as student representative Matthew Brown from our town’s Parks and Rec. We appreciate them taking the time to visit us and learn about the different FIRST programs, we look forward to working with them more soon!
